Melissa Maupin

Owner & Artistic Director
Melissa is the Owner and Artistic Director of Broadway Connection. She is passionate about the education and growth of students in the arts and hopes to help bring each of them the inspiration and information to pursue their dreams. A St. Louis native, she earned her B.A. degree in Human Services and Dance from Millikin University graduating magna cum-laude as a James Millikin Scholar. Currently living in New York City, she is a professional performing artist, teacher, choreographer and adjudicator. Her dance career has taken her around the world with credits including the National tours of 42nd Street and Crazy for You and the International tour of Fame choreographed by Josh Bergasse. She had the honor to dance alongside a fantastic cast of Broadway dancers for the Career Transitions for Dancers 25th Anniversary Gala choreographed by Randy Skinner and hosted by Angela Lansbury and to honor Tommy Tune by performing in the Fred Astaire Awards.

As a master teacher and adjudicator, Melissa is thrilled to bring her knowledge and passion to Broadway Connection to create a full-circle learning experience for students and professionals that is educational, inspirational and most importantly fun! Taking class with a current Broadway performer, gaining first-hand professional advice and then seeing the show is a Broadway Connection Experience students will always remember!

The Broadway Connection Experience

Thayne's positive outlook, sincere encouragement to each dancer and his obvious talent all packaged together made for an inspirational morning.  He had so much knowledge to share and all the dancers came out motivated to work hard and be better.  And I loved the fact that he had so much varied experience -- stage, tv, film, etc!
